I went on Amazon and bought two boxes of Revlon platinum hair bleach and two bottles of Adore "Cotton Candy Pink" dye. The first time I bleached my hair, I had high expectations. I pictured myself with pastel bubblegum pink hair that only comes from things dreams are made of. I didn't know that it was actually more complicated than just slapping bleach and dye on my hair. Bleaching hair is an extensive process that can easily go wrong and if you are not careful, you can seriously damage your hair. I had bleached my hair a few times in the past, and I thought I knew what I was doing. 😅 |

I also did not know that it would take more than just one bleach job to get my hair light enough to take in the pink color I desired. 😫 |

I prepared my bathroom and put the gloves on and went to work. The lightening powder that came with the kit accidentally tipped over in the sink and a good quarter of it spilled. I should have known right then to abandon mission but I decided to go through with it. I also did not wait at least 30 seconds for the bleach to develop in the bottle (had I read the instructions better the first time maybe I would have known that 🤣) I applied the bleach all over my hair as best as I could and waited 45 minutes before washing it out. When I looked in the mirror I was horrified. My hair looked and felt like peanut brittle! It was the color of an old brassy penny. NOT the platinum blonde I had imagined. |
